Most have an established dental routine that they don’t think twice about. If asked, most know when and how often they brush, and which oral care products are their favorites. One thing you may consider revisiting is your flossing routine.
Is flossing a part of my regular at-home care?
How often am I flossing?
It is easy for flossing to be laid aside because many do not like it. Even if you are great about brushing twice a day flossing may not be a priority. Let’s dig deeper and explore a few things you need to know about proper flossing to take care of your smile.
According to the American Dental Association, flossing should be performed daily. Flossing is not a replacement for brushing your teeth. It makes sure you’re cleaning between your teeth and around your gums. The areas where food debris and bacteria tend to hide and where toothbrushes tend not to be able to reach.
Now that you’re flossing daily, which time is better? Morning or night? The answer is whichever fits your schedule better. Try both times and see what works. Are you too rushed in the morning, or too tired at night? Time is important if it helps you remember to floss. Thus, make it part of your routine, either morning or night.
